The test should not be performed: - during menstruation, - during treatment with antibiotics, - during treatment with vaginal preparations (globules, creams), - when irrigations are used, - within 48 hours after the last sexual intercourse. On the day of the test, the genital area should be washed without using soap or intimate hygiene gels. If treatment has been used, a 3-5 day break is recommended between the end of treatment and the test.
The test material in women is a cervical swab.
For men
The material for the test in men is urine (the first portion of urine from the night in a volume of about 15-30ml). Men should abstain from sexual intercourse for 3 days before the test. In addition, on the day of the test, the genital area should be washed without soap and gels.
