In the period of several days before the test, one should not have intercourse
sexually, perform vaginal irrigations, undergo a gynecological examination
gynecological examination and transvaginal ultrasound.
Colposcopy is not performed during menstrual bleeding,
it is best to perform the examination after menstruation.
It is advisable for the patient to come to the examination with a
current cytology result with a recommendation for colposcopy (not
older than six months).
During the examination, the doctor may decide to take
sections for histopathological evaluation and possible further
immunohistochemical diagnosis (histopathological and
immunohistochemistry is charged extra).
