The material should be collected before the implementation of treatment
antimicotic treatment or at least 1 week after the end of treatment
(applies to mucous membranes) or 1 month after the end of treatment
(applies to other sites).
On the day of the examination, the skin lesion should not be lubricated (ointment, cream),
because the mycelium shreds retreat deep into the skin.
The collection site should be cleansed of cosmetics (face-powder,
armpit- antiperspirant) on the day before the test. No
allowed to cleanse the face from cosmetics just before the test.
In the case of scalp scrapings 2 days before the test, do not
wash the head.
Before collecting material from the oral mucous membranes at least
one hour before the examination you should not: eat, drink sugary drinks
drink sweet drinks/juice, chew gum, brush your teeth, use mouthwash or lozenges, and smoke.

The nail plate should be clean, one day before the test
soaked in soapy water, not cut for about 1 week, without
